“Shandra, where are they and when are they coming back?”

“I don’t know Red, but, when I find out you’ll be the first to know.”

“A’ight”

When Reese returned to her room her phone was beeping indicating she had a missed call and a new voicemail. She grabbed her phone and listened to the message, “Reese this is Lori, your package was just sent and will be waiting for you when you get home”

Okay it’s time to get home thought Reese as the wheels in her head began to spin.

Before dinner Jamari decided he needed to talk to Reese. He wanted her to remain in Florida out of harm’s way.

“Hey, baby girl!”

“Hey you, so when are we leaving?”

“That’s what I wanted to talk to you about.”

“Okay then talk.”

“Look Reese, I really want you to say here for a little while longer.”

“Jamari, look I understand your concern but I really want to go back home. I want to go to my graduation; I want to have a big graduation party with all my friends there. Plus, I need to take my finals.”

“Baby girl, I don’t think that’s a good idea?”

“Why?”

“Too much shit is going on right now, ma.”

“Look Jamari, I ain’t letting anyone steal my shine. I’ve worked too hard not to walk across the stage and celebrate that fact that I beat the odds. Plus, Mrs. Jackson called and said that I have to give a speech or something because I am valedictorian.”

“A’ight, a’ight you win! You know how much I love you right?”

“Yeah, the feeling is mutual.”

“Just reminding you.”

“Mari ,can I ask you a question?”

“All day every day.”

“Do you still have feelings for Michelle?”

“Reese, you already know the answer to that question.”

“Okay, well I’m gonna tell you something, but you can’t say anything.”

“You know I won’t.”

“Mari she loves you and she misses you. I know that things got messed up before, but you have to trust that her breaking up with you was something she had to do and not something she wanted to do.”

“Reese, I need more than that. You’re confusing me.”

“Look Mari, I’ve already told you too much. Just go to her and let her explain, okay” Reese said as she gave him a hug.

“Okay, okay!”

“Hey, are we all going out to dinner tonight?”

“Yeah! Why?”

“No reason, just wondering.”
